About Us

The History of the MPRC

The Montreal Pagan Resource Centre (MPRC) is a volunteer-based drop-in centre where people (from any faith) can teach, share, and inform themselves on subjects related to alternative spirituality.

The Centre was launched on the day of the New Moon, August 29, 2000, with a wonderful dedication ritual led by Scarlet Cougar of the Crescent Moon School. Over thirty members of the community were in attendance to help bless the new Centre with good wishes and personal pledges. The highlight of the evening was the weaving of a giant web which acted as a physical reminder of how interwoven and rich our Pagan community is.

Our volunteers are looking forward to meeting you! Browse through our ever-growing library, sit down and do some writing, or design a lecture or a workshop to give in one of the Centre’s three rooms.

The MPRC/CRPM is located in a space graciously donated by Montreal’s Pagan bookstore Le Melange Magique, existing as a completely separate entity. The Centre is open for drop-ins every afternoon, depending on volunteer availability.

Staffed by Volunteers

The existence of such a Centre is only possible because of the dedication of the Centre’s volunteers. At this time, we ask for your help, your suggestions and your support. We are always looking for new volunteers, to be available in the MPRC/CRPM to oversee access to the books and provide information on public events happening in the Montreal area.

Please contact us at mprccrpm@gmail.com if you or your business can offer some of your time to help maintain our sanctuary for Montreal Pagans… the first of its kind in Canada.

If you have books or furniture that you’d like to donate, please contact us to discuss drop-off or pick-up options and dates! Putting a book in our reference library means the whole community can benefit from it, so share with your sisters and brothers!

If you wish to help lead a ritual or event, or you want to volunteer at the Centre, then email us or visit us!

Would you like to be a volunteer? Download our Volunteer Form (Word/PDF) and either  email it to us (mprccrpm@gmail.com) or drop it off at the MPRC itself.

The MPRC Library

The MPRC library consists of books donated by people in the community.  Feel free to consult our spreadsheet to see if we have a book you would want to see!
