Discussion Night: Paganism/Spirituality and Aging

5 August 2010

Good day,

The MPRC holds public discussions on random subjects pertaining to paganism and/or alternative beliefs every first Thursday of the month (except July and August). The structure remains open and informal where every opinion is welcomed.

Our upcoming discussion:

Topic: Spirituality and Aging
Date: Sept, 2, 2010 at 6h30pm to 8h45pm
Location: (MPRC) Melange Magique; 1928 Ste-Catherine Ouest, Montreal
Cost: Free.

Let’s discuss:
- How aging impacts our paganism/spirituality/beliefs;
- How we saw our spirituality younger versus how we expect to see it in the future;

- How humanity’s beliefs changed throughout time;
- New Age Spirituality versus the Ways of the Old;
- How we expect general paganism/spirituality/religion to mutate in the future.

Cheers,

Sel

Previous Post:

I’m sharing with you a public event for women from July 9th-July 11th 2010. It’s highly pagan oriented but not exclusive, so all women are welcomed.

Here’s a copy paste from their site:

This event was created by women, for women of all backgrounds, 16 years of age and older. If you have ever thought it would be nice to get away from everything, go camping for a weekend and focus on yourself for a change, then come join us.

The theme for this year is “The Path to a Fulfilling Life”.

The Red Spiral Women’s Retreat will take place at Raven’s Knoll, a campground and event centre located near Eganville, Ontario, Canada. This beautiful, natural 100 acre property is located on the Bonnechere River, near Golden Lake.

June 3rd, 2010 Discussion Night Topic “Leadership in Alternative Spiritualities”

7 May 2010

Good day!

The MPRC holds public discussions on random subjects pertaining to paganism and/or alternative beliefs every first Thursday of the month. The structure remains open and informal where everyone’s opinion is welcomed.

Our upcoming discussion:

Topic: Leadership in Alternative Spiritualities (Gurus, Shamans, Prophets, Founders, etc.)
Date: June 3rd 2010 (18h30-20h30)
Location: (MPRC) Mélange Magique boutique; 1928 Ste-Catherine Ouest, Montreal
Cost: Free (change donations welcomed to support MPRC’s community activities)

Let’s Discuss:

- What made some historical figures spiritual/religious leaders? (Gandhi, Buddha, Confucius, Muhammad, Sanders, Gardner, Bonewits, Crowley, Levi, etc.)
- Who are the key figures in Paganism and Alternative Spiritualities today?
o Local, Regional, National, Global
- Is spiritual leadership something that stems from wanting society to “change”?
- What is expected of Leadership today and is Leadership about sacrifice?
- Where did all the Leaders go?
- Are we moving towards times in which such leadership is no longer required?
- Etc.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: There will be no discussions for the months of July and August due to the crazy summer festivities and holidays.

Stay tuned for the upcoming topics in September 2010.

Cheers,

Selena
