The MPRC holds discussion nights every first Thursday of the month on random subjects pertaining to alternative spirituality/paganism. The discussions are open where all opinions are welcomed.

Crossing the Veils (without dying)

• What are the “Veils” and debates on concepts of “Reality”
• What does each faith teach of the “Veils”
• Methods of crossing the Veil: Such as meditation, trance-work, astral travel, past-lives, lucid dreaming; metaphysics and the Evolving Consciousness; etc.
• Why do we try?
• Etc.

We are very pleased to announce that we had a little over 20 people at the Isaac Bonewits memorial ritual that was held in Angrignon park tonight and led by Linda Demissy.

Our thanks go to Linda for putting this memorial ritual together so quickly, to Mark and Farrell for helping out with it, and to everyone else who turned up to witness it. There were many touching moments, but also loads of laughter, which was a sure sign that Isaac had turned up to join us (including a boombox that would not shut off and only got louder the more we fiddled with it).

We also raised over $374 dollars which will be donated to Phaedra Bonewits to help with covering her medical bills. Much love and thanks to Mariesol who auctioned off a unique, hand-written collection of pagan chants, songs, and stories, which sold for $120!

We hope Isaac enjoyed our offerings and that they speed him off to the Summerlands in style. Gods bless.

Just a reminder that there will be no Pagan Discussion evening this month because the MPRC has decided to give our faaaabulous moderator the summer off to rest.

This also means there will be NO Pagan Discussion Night in July or August either. We should start again in September 2010.

- What made historical figures spiritual/religious leaders? (Sanders, Gardner, Bonewits, Crowley, Levi, Gandhi, Buddha, Confucius, Muhammad, etc.)
- Who are the key figures in Paganism and Alternative Spiritualities today?
o Local, Regional, National, Global
- Is spiritual leadership something that stems from wanting society to “change”?
- What is expected of Leadership today and is Leadership about sacrifice?
- Where did all the Leaders go?
- Are we moving towards times in which such leadership is no longer required?
- Etc.

There will be no discussions for the months of July and August due to the crazy summer festivities and holidays.
