Blessed Samhain

31 October 2011

On behalf of the MPRC, I want to wish everyone a blessed Samhain, a Happy Celtic New Year, and a Happy Halloween. May your honored dead rest well and be forever remembered in the hearts and minds of those who knew and loved them well.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.

Come join us for a Halloween breakfast and meet other pagans in your community! No level of pagan experience is necessary, but as long as you can wield a knife and fork like a guru master, you’ll be respected and admired by your peers.

This is a kid-friendly event, so feel free to bring your offspring.

If you have any questions, send me a message on FB or email me at jdhobbes @ gmail.com. If you don’t know anybody, don’t fret. Ask the resto guys for Hobbes or look for the pentacle.

Local Make-up Artist for Halloween

13 October 2010

From April Anna Bremers:

Halloween is nearly here! Have you got your make-up artist booked yet? If not, then you have come to the right place! The Art of April-Anna is offering private appointments out of her studio (there are cats, so hopefully you don’t have allergies).

Most looks take between 20 minutes up to 45 minutes. If you are on a tight budget, tell us your budget and what you are looking for and April-Anna will create something for you within your budget. $1.50 per minute.

Putting posters up for the Bardic and the Ball

10 October 2010

We’ve had bilingual posters made for the following events and we’re asking our supporters to put these posters up in places where they will be seen:

  • Montreal Witches Masquerade Ball (thanks be to Alex for designing the poster)
  • Gaia Bardic Fundraiser (thanks be to Crystal for designing the poster and flyers)

The posters have been brought to the two following places for you to pick up:

  • Charme & Sortilege (4933 Rue de Grand-Pré, Montréal)
  • Le Melange Magique (1928 Ste. Catherine Street West)

When putting these posters up, please do NOT put them on illegal places like mailboxes, telephone poles, parking meters, bus shelters, etc. If our posters are found in these places, we could be fined up to $1500.  For the Witches Ball: if Sala Rossa finds out that the posters have been put in illegal places, we could lose our rights to use their space for this event. So please BE CAREFUL when putting the posters up.

Keep in mind that these events are on October 23rd (the Gaia Bardic) and  on October 29th (the Witches Ball), which is not far away. The sooner we get these posters up, the better. Good places to put posters up include:

  • Universities
  • CEGEPS
  • Community centres
  • Cafes
  • Grocery stores
  • Pharmacies

Thanks for your support!
